Rwandans Promote Culture and Products at World Village Festival in Helsinki

On May 25-26, 2024, Rwandans living in Finland took part in the World Village Festival in Helsinki, an event attended by 15,000 visitors, including representatives from various countries, entrepreneurs, artists, and NGOs.

The Ambassador of Rwanda to the Nordic countries, Dr. Diane Gashumba, joined the Rwandan community in promoting Rwandan coffee, tea, arts and crafts, and "Made in Rwanda" clothing.

On the first day of the festival, the Rwanda stand was bustling with visitors refilling their coffee cups, eager to experience the rich flavors of Rwandan coffee.

The World Village Festival features musicians from all over the globe, celebrating musical heritage and world culture. Alongside Rwanda, other African countries present included Tanzania, Kenya, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

The Rwandan Community in Finland and Friends, together with the Embassy of Rwanda to the Nordics, aim to attract more Rwandans to next year's festival to promote and sell their products, and to have Rwandan artists grace the stage.

The World Village Festival in Helsinki provides an excellent platform to introduce the Finnish public to Rwandan NGOs, entrepreneurs, artists, and artisans.
